Namwamba urged to tour Mombasa

Ababu Namwamba

A few days after touring the Kisumu Municipal Stadium, the newly appointed minister for youth affairs and sports Hon. Ababu Namwamba has been urged to make the trip to coast to inspect the Mombasa Municipal Stadium.

Attacks

According to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) technical committee chairman Mr. Elly Mukolwe, being deprived of the facility, which has been unavailable for some time, has left the federation with no option but use insecure venues which has led to numerous attacks on referees.

-The minister made a good move to inspect the Kisumu stadium so now we are urging him to make a trip to Mombasa and have a look at the Mombasa Municipal Stadium. The state of the stadium is not so good and as such we have to use sub standard venues for our matches.

Insecure

-The venues are so insecure especially for the referees and we don’t want to subject them to assault like it has been in the past few days when officiating in open fields. We are calling on the government do something about it, he told futaa.com.

Mbaraki Sports Club is the best of all the venues in the region, the others used for league matches are Refinery Grounds and Chuda Day Secondary.
