Division One side Nairobi Stima on Saturday 19 January met with Tusker Premier League’s Mathare United in a training match, played at the Stima Club.
The match ended on a barren draw, but it left Stima’s head Coach Barrack Ouma proud. According to Ouma, Mathare had come out strong but his charges held their own in the match.
-It was quite a tough match, but my players played well and managed to keep Mathare from reaching our goal, Ouma told Futaa.com.
Useful
Ouma also noted that through the match, he noted areas of weakness, which he intends to work on before the return of the season.
-The matches we play in the pre-season are meant to help us strengthen our approach to competitive matches. From the match against Mathare I could point out the areas that need some tweaking so that we are at our best once the season comes around.
Performance
Stima were ranked eighth in the Eastern Zone of the country’s second tier league at the end of the 2012 season, while Mathare were also placed eighth in their league.
