AFC Leopards defender Jonas Nahimana played full time as his Amavubi side lost 2 – 0 to Libya in a friendly match played at the Hammam Bourguiba stadium in Tunis, Tunisia on Wednesday 23 May.
Grigma goal
The Rwandans fell behind in the 38th minute through a goal by through Khalifa Grigma after the Rwandan defence failed to satisfactorily clear a right wing cross and the striker stole in to fire a rasping shot past Jean Claude in the Rwandan goal.
Poor finishing
Poor finishing came to be Rwanda’s undoing in the second half as their dominance failed to bear fruit, and with a sucker punch, they fell further behind in the 85th minute courtesy of Hammed El Maghabul’s goal after latching on to a long pass from Ahmed Saad.
Amavubi have another friendly match lined up, against their hosts Tunisia on Sunday before playing Algeria on Saturday 2 June in the qualifying match of the 2014 World Cup.
