Kakamega Homeboyz defender Cresten Mwanzo is expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a thigh injury.
The former KCB centre half underwent a thigh operation on Tuesday 16 October and will be out for a minimum of four weeks.
Doctor’s report
Confirming to futaa.com, Team Manager Boniface Imbenzi admitted that Mwanzo’s injury is a big blow to the Mashujaa Day Cup champions.
-He will be out for 3-4 weeks and it will depend with the Doctor’s report, but from the look of things he might be out for rest of the season.
-The league is at a very crucial stage and as far as I am concerned, his injury is a big blow to us; he’s been a kingpin in the defense and missing such a player is very sad.
-But, I am glad at least we have some replacements. He missed the Bandari match but those who played in the defense are up for the task, said Imbenzi.
With four matches to go, Homeboyz are currently leading the Division One [Western Zone] League with 81 points.
