Former Thika United striker Haji Mwachoki is in a mix; five Kenyan Premier League clubs are all in on him wishing to have him in their ranks during the mini transfer window set for the entire stretch of June 2011.
Mwachoki, released from Thika towards the end of April for what was termed ‘indiscipline’ has now made it clear that the club with the best offer will sweep him off his feet.
fourth best striker
- Since leaving I have been approached by atleast five clubs but there has been nothing concrete as yet, he said while speaking to kenyanfootie.com from Thika
- I want to make the right decision as to which club I should join so I will take my time. But the club that offers the best deal will be highly considered, he added.
At the close of the 2009 season, Mwachoki was the fourth best striker in the KPL with nine goals to his credit and in 2010 scored seven goals to become the clubs top striker in two successive seasons.
debut
He was discovered and acquired by Thika United at the National Schools Football Tournament in 2006. In the 2008 season, the striker was loaned out to Mombasa based Premier League side Bandari for a season before he returned back to Thika.
Mwachoki, 21, has two caps for Harambee stars – his debut being on September 8 2007 in a 2008 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola under the then head coach Jacob Ghost Mulee.
