Musonye unsure of Kagame cup future

Misc

CECAFA secretary general Nicholas Musonye is unsure as to where the next edition of the Kagame cup tournament will be held.

Musonye, speaking in Dar es Salaam also hopes that current tournament Castle Lager sponsors will be there next year.

The tournament which usually takes place in the beginning of the year (January- Feb) has this year been pushed to the current July because of a spate of problems, including the first hosts of the tournament pulling out.

-It is true that the tournament usually takes place from January to February. This time though they have taken place during this month because of the FIFA and CAF calendar and also because we do not have sponsors, he told Mwanaspoti.

Uncertainty

Castle lager are the current tournament hosts but Musonye is uncertain as to whether they will be around for the 2012 edition.

-At the moment we do not even know where the next tournament next year will be. We have to get sponsors first then we will see.

-We do not know if Castle will be there next year or not.

Kenya last hosted the tournament in December 2009.
