Former Kenyan International Musa Otieno points sees age as a non-factor when selecting a national team captain.
According to Otieno, currently an assistant Coach at South African side Santos, character should be the primary determinant of whether one makes captain.
- Age is just a number. First you look for a leader who knows himself and knows what he wants, Otieno told kickoff.com.
-Giving a good example on the field, but remembering that a leader needs to perform well too because the fellow players will follow him.
-He needs to be directing the team to get good results and needs to be someone who never gives up.
Otieno was speaking in relation to who should be named the next captain of the South African national team, Bafana Bafana.
