Former Sofapaka midfielder and Ugandan international Musa Mudde could be the foreign player to be dropped by his Tanzanian team Simba SC to create space for Malian defender Komabil Keita.
Long term injury
According citizen.co.tz, the club, which already has five foreign players, has been impressed by the Malian who is on trials and the long term injury suffered by Mudde in the CECAFA Kagame Cup could be used as a reason by the Tanzanian champions to drop him.
-Mudde is one of the players Simba want to offload. His injury means we won’t use him at least until early November, so the Ugandan is certainly not in (coach) Cirkovic’s plan for the new season.
-(On the other hand) Keita has shown great ability on the pitch during our warm-up matches and we can’t afford to miss his services for we face tough assignments ahead, the site quoted a source.
The foreigners
The foreigners at the team currently are Kenya’s Pascal Ochieng, Emmanuel Okwi (Uganda), Felix Sunzu (Zambia), Musa Mudde (Uganda) and Daniel Akuffor of Ghana. The Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) stipulates that a club shall have a maximum of five foreigners at a given time.
Pascal Ochieng could also come into the equation if the Malian defender is signed since the Kenyan international does not have the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) clearance as yet.
