Mudde set for Uganda Cranes trip to Morocco

The Uganda Cranes will have only one day to train with head coach Bobby Williamson before they fly out for the four Nations LG Cup in Casablanca, in Morocco Monday .

According to the New Vision, the team converges for non-residential training at Namboole starting Saturday 5 November 2011 under the guidance of assistant tactician Jackson Mayanja as Williamson can only join from holiday in Germany the following day.

Cranes foreign based players Hassan Wasswa, Brian Umony, Geoffrey Massa, Dennis Onyango are expected to link up with the rest of the team in Morocco.

Midfield kingpin Tonny Mawejje and defender Henry Kalungi are already in the country while Hamis Kiiza, Patrick Ochan, Emma Okwi and Sofapaka midfielder Mudde Mussa arrive on Saturday.

Dissapointment

After the dissapointment of failaing in their bid to qualify for the 2012 AFCON championships in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, the Cranes will be keen to put up a good display in the tourney.

The three-day tournament will pit together hosts Morocco, Cameroon, Sudan and Uganda and will run in the Moroccan Capital Marrakech stadium from November 11.

Cameroon’s Head Coach Denis Lavagne has lined up a squad of 28 Europe based players for a series of friendly matches including the LG Cup slated in November.

The total of $120,000 is in place for the participating teams with the overall winner taking $60000 (Ksh 6 Million) first runner up $30000 (Ksh 3 Million). The third placed team takes $20000 (Ksh 2 million) and the last team $10000 (Ksh 1 million).
