The Bolton Wanderers ace Fabrice Muamba who celebrated his
24th birthday on 6 April 2012 is expected to be transferred to a
clinic in the North-west nearer to his home.
His parting shot to London medics who have ensured his recovery from a bloodcurdling cardiac arrest is a 16-inch giant vanilla sponge cake iced with the words:
Gratitude
- To all the Medical Staff at the London Chest Hospital that helped me on the road to recovery. From Fabrice Muamba and Family.
Muamba who was declared clinically dead for 78 minutes on arrival at the facility in March following a cardiac arrest during his side’s FA tie against Tottenham has made an astounding recovery.
Specialists’ parting shot
According to The Bolton News, heart specialists are poised to clear doubts on Fabrice’s ability to resume Premier League career in the future seasons. They envisage no long-term issues that would prevent him taking to the pitch.
The midfielder who will be transferred to Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, Cheshire is expected to be fitted with a special defibrillator pacemaker before he leaves the hospital, just in case he suffers another cardiac arrest.
