Simba has terminated the contract of their head coach Moses Basena with immediate effect. The coach was allegedly fired by the team and is expected to be replaced any time from now.
In an interview with mwanaspoti.co.tz, the Ugandan coach Basena however denied knowledge of the sacking insisting that he was still the recognized coach of the former champions.
Not aware
-I am not aware of my sacking and anyone who wants me out should pay me the dues as stipulated in the contract that we signed with the club.
-Even though they want to give me another responsibility, we will have to negotiate and clear the past dues before the new phase, said Basena.
Simba lost the title to their arch rivals Yanga at the end of last season and they involved in frantic efforts to reclaim it. They currently lead the standings with 28 points one ahead of Yanga.
The mainland league is on a midseason break and is expected to resume in January next year.
