Celebrations marked Voi town on Sunday 7 October 2012 when Kingstone Voi beat South Coast Provincial League Zone B leaders Mombasa Polytechnic 4-2 in a tough match played at Moi Stadium, Voi.
Completed his brace
A brace by Peter Ingasi and another by Alfred Mlamba were enough to condemn Polyetchnic to the dustbin.
Ingasi opened the scores in the sixth
minute but Mombasa Polytechnic, pulled back level five minutes after the second stanza through a penalty scored by Nicodemus Odipo, his twentieth goal of the season
Drew level
Ingasi sent Kingstone Voi back in the lead when he completed his brace two minutes after the hour mark. But a resilient Poly once again drew level through Nivian Teddy seven minutes after going down 2-1.
Mlamaba however sent the host in the lead once and for all with a brace, his first coming on 77 minutes and the second seven minutes later.
Remain at the podium
Despite the loss Mombasa Polytechnic remain at the podium of the log with 42 points, ten more than second placed Nacet from Ukunda.
In other Zone B matches played on the same Sunday, Coast Stima was held 1-1 by Magongo United at Makande while the match between Civicon and Lit Samba at Changamwe estate was not played because the referee failed to show up.
