Moi’s Chepkoilel Campus dethrone MMUST

Moi University (Chepkoilel Campus) Ladies' soccer team are the new WECUSA champions after beating four-time champions Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) 1-0 in a pulsating final match played  on Sunday 14 October, in Bondo.

The important goal of the match was scored by Lucy alias Drogba in the 79^th after a defensive mix-up.

On their way to final, MMUST trounced Bondo University 1-0 as Chepkoilel drubbed Egerton University 2-0.

Bitter loss

Speaking to futaa.com after the match, MMUST skipper Evelyn Gaucho Nyongesa expressed his disappointment with the result, but praised their opponents for the victory.

-It was a tough match. We have beaten them in all the last-four finals and I think that was a sweet revenge from them. However, I congratulate them for the win.

-They came into the match more determined. Though it’s a bitter loss, they deserved to win, said the Galactico Youth striker.
