The Nairobi District Zone C side Intercity FC played to a barren draw with KEMRI in a friendly match on Friday 12 October at the Hope Centre and the District League side’s coach Francis Okoth had few concerns about his players’ output.
Tough test
Okoth, speaking to futaa.com after the game described it as a tough test for his boys considering they were playing against a strong and higher ranked team that had just won qualification to the Kenyan second tier.
His only concern was that his players were wasteful in front of goal, especially Charles Nyabera and John Wanyoro who missed great chances.
Right motivation
-The match was tough but in my opinion it offered the right motivation for my team. To me the result was just good because we were taking on a team that has just won promotion, a very strong opposition with great quality.
-However, we missed great and open scoring chances; Nyabera and Wanyoro’s misses were particularly criminal but I know we will rectify that with time, he said.
KEMRI finished eighth in the Nairobi Provincial League.
