Making the Tusker squad is one Mark Odhiambo, a central defender roped in from fourth tier side Mbotela Kamaliza just before the side took off for their offseason training that started off in Tanzania on Monday 24 December 2012.
Odhiambo has featured in most of the games played by Tusker, a presence that excites an official of his former team Kamaliza
-We are happy that our team can produce yet another player who can turn out for the Kenyan Champions, said club patron George Odhiambo who is also the deputy secretary General of Nairobi Branch
-His move to the big league is now a great motivator to the other youngsters he has left behind at the club who will want to work as hard as he did to land an opportunity like he did, added George
Odhiambo follows closely on the footsteps of Brian Mandela Onyango who was part of Mbotela Kamaliza till the 2011 season where he crossed over to premier league side Rangers FC. In 2012 he joined Tusker but left for South Africa in June to link up with second tier side Santos FC.
