Maxim: Cameroon misses Etoo

Samuel Etoo

For leading a boycott ahead of a 15 November 2011 friendly against Algeria, Cameroon skipper Samuel Eto’o was handed an eight months ban by his Country’s Federation.

Feel that somebody is not there

Six months down the line, one player; Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, German born but opted to feature for Cameroon, has made a revelation that their suspended skipper is highly missed.

-We are all missing Eto’o. We used to have a very good time with him before his suspension and the team was in good shape, but now you can feel that somebody is not there. We’re really missing him, said Choupo-Moting as quoted by goal.com

Sailed past Guinea Bissau

-I used to score goals through his assists. The setup used to do wonderful things with him. We miss him and we need him, concluded the Mainz player

At the weekend, an unconvincing Cameroon, with a goal from Maxim, sailed past Guinea Bissau 1-0 to head into the second round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a 2-0 aggregate.
