Tusker Premier League side Mathare United trounced their FKF Division One counterparts Bidco United 2-0 in an exciting friendly match, on Thursday 11 October, at Goon Institute.
Mathare’s joint top scorer Jesse Were opened the scoring on the half hour mark before Gabriel Nduru wrapped up their second victory of the week with a cool finish, ten minutes to stoppage time.
On Wednesday, Nduru and Daniel Mwaura were on target as the former TPL Champions beat Eastleigh Youth 2-1 at the same venue.
Maintain fitness
In an interview with futaa.com after the match, Team Manager William Kanu Muluya acclaimed his boys for their impressive display.
-Bearing in mind that we have a long-break, they were good matches for the team. The boys played very well and as per instructions.
-We want to maintain our fitness level and we are looking forward to another build-up match over the weekend, said Muluya.
Mathare are ranked 11th on the log and are scheduled to meet Oserian in their next league match, on Saturday 20 October, in Nairobi.
