After handing Karuturi Sports a 2-0 beating in their own backyard, Tusker FC’s head Coach Robert Matano was a delighted man.
The win helped Tusker ascend back to the topmost position, which they had given up to Gor Mahia for a 24-hour period.
-I am glad that we won against Karuturi, and I am even more impressed because the record I hold, of not losing a match to Karuturi since 2000, with any team I have coached, still stands, said Matano after the match.
Title shot
Matano, speaking of Tusker’s chance of retaining the title, said that they know what to do to get there, and they are working on it.
-You win a marathon at the end, not at the start. And now that we are almost there, we shall keep at it until we get it.
Standings
Tusker now have 48 points, three in front of second-placed Gor Mahia.
