Masonko progress in Eastlands Community Cup

Masonko beat Kayole Youth FC 2-1 in the Eastlands Community Cup in a clash played on Wednesday 19 December 2012 to progress to the last eight of the competition. Zakaria Mohammed scored the opener for Kayole on 14 minutes with a 30 yard drive.

It was not an easy game for Masonko who were packed with experienced players as they were made to work very hard by the young and energetic Kayole.

Penalty

Their quality however told and they eventually equalised on 40 minutes when Patrick Njuguna converted from the penalty spot after Danson Kago had been brought down.

And they were soon on the ascendancy, hitting the front on 45 minutes, Edwin Mwaura converting from close range to guarantee the win for Masonko.

Quarters

With the win, Masonko will now meet Eastleigh Youth in the Cup quarter finals on Thursday 27 December 2012.
