Mariga's Parma not in the red

Roberto Donadoni
Parma coach Roberto Donadoni is doing his best to take the positives out of his side's performance in their draw with bottom placed Cesena over the weekend.

The club ended up with a 2-2 draw in their Italian Serie A clash, Sunday 25 March 2012.

It was the eighth match in a row that the club failed to collect victory in the top flight, where Kenyan international McDonald Mariga has been playing his trade.

The former Italian international is trying his best to keep a brave face in the wake of the poor performances and hopes that the club will rise up the table.

Not good at all

-If we make an assessment of what we did, it is that we have improved from previous losses, though it is still not a good result for us to draw.

-It has not been good in the last two months. It has been poor from us and we have to improve because of our position.

-We are not very badly off, so we have to say that the match against Cesena is history and now we must do our best with Lazio and move on from there, Donadoni told Republica Sport.

Parma are currently in position 17 in the league, just five points ahead of Lecce who are in the relegation places. They face bigwigs Lazio in their next Serie A match.
