With a 3-1 first leg second round win, Zimbabwe went to Angola hoping to top up the scores to qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
3-3
But it was not to be as former Manchester United striker Manucho scored a brace to hand Angola a 2-0 win in the reverse tie played at the Cidadela Stadium on Sunday 14 October 2012.
With the two goals scored, in the fifth and seventh minutes, Angola tied the aggregate score, after the 1830hrs kick off, at 3-3.
Now qualified
With the away goals rule applicable, Angola ended Zimbawe’s dream of returning to the African elite Nation competition that kicks off on 9 January 2013 in South Africa.
Angola has now qualified for the event after Niger, Togo, Cape Verde, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, defending Champions Zambia, Morocco and Tunisia.
