Mali joins Ghana in AFCON 2013

Ghana became the first African Nation to qualify for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations after seeing off Malawi 0-1 in a Saturday 13 October 2012 game played from 1530hrs at the Kamuzu Stadium.

Embarrassing

On aggregate, the team went through with a 3-0 score line.

Half an hour later, Mali joined their West African counterparts after embarrassing hosts Botswana 1-4 in a reverse tie played at the National Stadium, Botswana from 1600hrs.

Another three

Mali now go through with a 7-1 aggregate score as the team had won the first leg second round tie played on Saturday 8 October 3-0.

In the latest game, Mali carried a 0-1 half time lead to the break before adding another three in the second half.
