Magongo says no to Celtic game

Ferdinand Ogot

One day after Admiral threatened not to honor A Division One league match against Kibera Celtic, if rescheduled, Magongo Rangers have issued the same.

72 hours

According to the Rangers Club Secretary Ferdinand Ogot, the match against Celtic is a foregone conclusion.

-Kibera Celtic failed to show up and we were awarded a walkover by match officials present.

-There was no official communication from the national office indicating that the match has been cancelled and in any case such communication has to be made 72 hours before the match as per rules and regulations governing the league.

Adequate time

-We therefore shall not accept any decision to reschedule the match, said Ogot

Ogot further stated that if Celtic ‘bus broke down’ on Friday as they alleged, they has adequate time to find alternative means of transport.

Reimburse

Kibera Celtic failed to turn up for their coastal outing against Admiral and Magongo Rangers on Saturday 6 October 2012 and Sunday 7 respectively. As per FKF, the two games will be rescheduled and played in dates yet to be confirmed.

Admiral have declared they will not honor the game unless Kibera Celtic is prepared to reimburse all the costs incurred in paying the players’ allowances for the week in preparation and booking of the venue, totaling to about Kshs. 80,000.
