The growing uncertainty over the fate of the scheduled Top 8 tie pitting Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants AFC Leopards against Gor Mahia has resulted in low sales of the game’s tickets.
1000 sold
The tickets for the tie at the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani went on sale on Friday 27 July with the prices placed at a flat rate of 200 shillings but according to Martin Nkaari a director at the ticketing firm Ticket Masters, only about 1,000 tickets have been sold.
Hopeful
-We have so far managed just over 1,000 ticket sales. The main reason for the low sales is the uncertainty after AFC Leopards’ stance but we remain hopeful that on the match day more tickets will be bought, he told futaa.com.
AFC Leopards cited lack of proper consultations on the chosen date of the game as their main reason for not honouring the tie.
