The Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarusic is undoubtedly the best coach in the Kenyan top flight as at week 27 of the Tusker Premier League (TPL) after leading the resurgent side to another impressive performance in the win over Karuturi Sport on Saturday 20 October.
The 1 – 0 win, albeit heavily disputed by the visiting side, was Gor Mahia’s 16th straight undefeated game and with it the Croatian equalled the 2010 season record registered by former Gor Mahia coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno who went the entire second leg unbeaten.
Zico’s team then, lost to AFC Leopards 0 – 1 on Wednesday 26 May and went on to avoid defeat in the following 16 games starting with a 1 – 0 win over Karuturi. The run was, however, ruthlessly ended by Rangers FC in a 0 – 3 loss in the first match of the 2011 season.
Logarusic’s team last lost a league game on Saturday 21 April against Ulinzi Stars at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru and the Croatian tactician will better the former Harambee Stars coach’s record with a win or draw against league leaders Tusker who they face next.
With the run in 2010, Gor Mahia finished second; the team is currently second in the 16 team log.
