On Sunday 8 September, Ligi Ndogo hosted Coast United in a Division One match played at Ligi’s grounds off Ngong Road.

Ligi won the match 3-0, the goals coming through John Njoroge, who scored a brace, and Philip Mbaeme Ugochukwu.

The last 15 minutes of the match was, however, not ‘played’ as Coast refused to restart the ball in protest of Ligi’s third goal. At the time, both teams stood on the pitch without kicking the ball as the clock wound down.

Post-match

The slow ending notwithstanding, Ligi’s Team Manager Calvin Odhiambo commended his team for putting up a good show and hoped to maintain the good form in upcoming matches.

-We played well and I am glad we took home full points. We are now focusing on our next matches, which we should hopefully bag, Odhiambo told Futaa.com.

Standings

Ligi Ndogo are currently ranked fifth in Group 1 of the Division One’s Zone A. Coast on the other hand are ranked 10th in the same league.
