Ligi Coach elated after Sharks win

After a draw in the past weekend away at Bidco United, Ngong road based Ligi Ndogo returned to winning ways on Sunday 21 October 2012, with a 3-1 win over former Division One Zone A table toppers Kariobangi Sharks.

We let them have all the possession

The win, from the game played at the Hope Centre from 1500hrs left Ligi Coach Mike Azeu Kamure a satisfied tactician.

-It was a very tough game. But we knew how they play – keeping possession. -So we let them have all the possession as we got the goals

-We got our goals through set pieces; two corners and a throw in and they got theirs through a penalty. They missed another.

-But overall I am very happy at my boys. I love their character in the game as well as in the most recent two games.

-They were determined to get the win and I love their spirit, said Azeu

In the game, Sven Yiday scored first for Ligi – in the 15th minute. But sharks drew level five minutes later when Vincent Odongo sent home a penalty to grab his eighth goal of the season.

Salim Abdalla

Defenders Jaswel Ngugi and Salim Abdalla added two other goals for Ligi in the 37th and 59th minutes respectively to seal the deal.

With the win, Ligi shot past Sharks to sixth spot in the standings with a new haul of 54 points from 33 games. Sharks is now down a position to seventh with 52 points from 32 games.
