English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal FC is among the teams reportedly eyeing a swoop on German Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 for striker Lewis Holtby whose contract with the German side is set to end at the end of the season.
The German international who has an English father has also been a subject of interest from Everton and Liverpool. His agent Markus Noack speaking to calciomercato.com, confirmed that he has had offers from the Premier League and Italian giants Inter Milan.
In talks
Noack, however, added that the German side will not be too keen on releasing the 22 year old and they have opened talks with the striker for a possible contract extension.
- Lewis is very good at Schalke but above all there is an English club which has made a very interesting proposal (but) we are also talking with Schalke about a possible extension for another three years, he said.
