Leopards coach expects Masika back for derby

AFC Leopards expect that Eric Masika will be back in action over the weekend.

The key defender missed the club's 2-1 loss at Western Stima over the weekend with a hamstring injury, and his omission from the squad was felt, as Leopards struggled at the back.

With an important match on the weekend against Gor Mahia to come, assistant coach Mickey Weche believes Masika will be ready for the test.

Should be ready

- Masika's withdrawal (Stima) was precautionary. We did not want him finishing off his hamstring at this time.

- He trained all of the last week, but with some very important matches to come, it was prudent that we take care of the player.

- He will train this week and I expect him to feature over the weekend, Weche told Futaa.com.

Sorely missed

After the defeat to Stima, head coach Jan Koops decried Masika's absence, putting it as part of the reason Leopards lost.
