League side harassed at home by juniors

Karuturi

A last minute goal by Karuturi Sport striker Mohammed Mwachiponi was enough to rescue the Tusker Premier League side from a would be painful loss against midweek opponents Talanta FC at Finlays grounds on Wednesday 3 October 2012.

The second leg substitute was at hand to salvage a 3-3 draw against the determined newly-formed side FC Talanta who are also set to play in the FKF Cup over the weekend.

Comeback

Karuturi were however in a comfortable 2-0 lead into the halftime break through a brace from Ugandan import Zzinda Hussein in the 28th and 30th minute from Allan Otindo and Peter Juma respective cross-ins.

The hosts however found the going tough in the second half with Talanta throwing all they had in their direction. The visitors’ efforts bore fruits through a Zachary Onyancha strike and a Nelson Okumu penalty in the 66th minute for a 2-2 draw.

It was not done for Talanta as they pressed forward and took the lead in the 88th minute through another Zachary Onyancha strike.

Karuturi hit back in the final minute to get the all-important draw ahead of their weekend match against AFC Leopards. Talanta play Tusker FC in another FKF Cup fixture.
