First Half
St. Anthony’s first goal was a masterpiece, Speedy forward Godian Mukolwe collected a through ball from the half, outrun Tononoka defenders and powered in an 18 yard volley past Oscar Mwandago just before the half hour mark.
Mukolwe lost a glorious chance to double the lead four minutes later, shooting wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Kenya U20 and Kariobangi Sharks striker Meshack Karani doubled the lead just before half-time, looping the ball past the advancing Tononoka High School custodian Oscar Mwandago.
Second Half
Tononoka came into the second half revitalized and lost a good chance to score in the 54th minute. Experienced forward Japheth Nyambu shot wide from just inside the box after a good pass from Ali Mwinyi from the left wing.
Ali Mwinyi headed straight into Mwandago’s arms in the 63rd minute and Ahmed Kibwana forced Mwandogo to a fine save six minutes later as Tononoka continued the search for their first goal.
Tononoka’s Ocholla Okoth was red carded in the 85th minute after fouling Dennis Nandwa inside the box. St. Athony’s Custodian Gabriel Andika stepped forward to take the resultant spot kick but his shot was saved by Fozi Matano who had come in for Oscar Mwandago at the beginning of the second half.
Currently going on is the match between Ibinzo Girls and St. Johns Kaloleni.
