After handing Kobala Girls’ a 3-1 beating, Tartar Girls have made the finals of the Airtel Rising Star Kenya Secondary School Association games, currently going on in Mombasa.
In the match, Tartar were first on the sheet, through Ruth Chebungei’s fourth minute goal.
Kobala’s Evelyn Anyango equalized five minutes later to see the teams go to the half-time break on a draw.
Two minutes into the second half, Neddy Atieno shot her side up before coming through again in the 69th minute to seal the victory.
Post-match
After the match, the Tartar’s head Coach Julius Natoka said that even though Kobala were decent opponents, he had come to take home the title.
-We are here on one mission and that is to carry home the title, Natoka told Futaa.com.
His sentiments were echoed by prolific striker Ruth Chebungei, who said that the title is now within reach.
-I am happy to have found my scoring touch and from where I
stand, I am confident that we shall take the title home, said Atieno.
The match was played at the Shanzu College grounds starting 0900hrs.
Tartar will now meet the winner of the match between Olympic and St John Kaloleni.
