KSSSA: St. Johns Girls starts off with win

St. Johns Girls emerged winners in the Airtel sponsored Kenya Secondary schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Girls National ball game Group A opener with a 1-0 win over Ibinzo of Western in a game played at the Shanzu College on Tuesday 7 August 2012 from noon.

Ibinzo came back strongly

Rehema Mwacharo’s lone goal on 15 minutes was enough to hand the Kaloleni based School an important win.

Three minutes after conceding, Ibinzo came back strongly in search on an equalizer. Tabitha Muhandi got into the box and should have leveled matters had she not sent the ball wide with the open goal at her mercy.

Ibinzo had an upper hand in the second half but St. John stayed put with some good defending to eventually celebrate Rehema’s first half loner.
