Nairobi’s Olympic handed Central Province’s Gataragwa an
11-0 thrashing in their Tuesday 7 August meeting, in the ongoing Nationals of
the Airtel sponsored Kenya Secondary
School Sports Association (KSSSA) ball games.
Olympic Girl’s Lilian Awuor was the highest scorer of the day, registering a hattrick with Captain Fadhime Omar, Anastacia Mwaki, Zelpha Adongo and Zubeda Shanga registering braces.
Josephine Nana completed the goal tally with one conversion.
Eight of the goals were scored in the first half.
After the match, Captain Omar, speaking to Futaa.com, attributed the win to their preparedness.
-We played as expected and the win did not come as a surprise, said Omar.
-We want to make the finals and win it, hence the hard work.
The tournament is being held at the at Shanzu College in Mombasa.
