KPL side handed a lesson by Scholars

Rangers

It was not a smooth affair for Kenyan Premier League side Rangers FC in their friendly match against University of Nairobi on Wednesday 20 June 2012.

The team was beaten 2-5 by the students in a friendly match played at the City Stadium starting 1600Hrs in what was preparation for the second leg.

Scored first

Rangers however were the first to score in the first half through their fresh players only identified as Mabo and Musula in their first half with UoN also pulling one back through Ian Thoithi in the 28th minute.

The second half was however different as the KPL side changed their entire team. The scholars took advantage of the new setting to slot in four goals.

Jean Claude hit a brace in the 50th and 84th minute with Conway Luvanda [78th] and Reuben Onsando also getting into the score card.

This left Rangers trailing but this does not seem to bother Technical Director James Nandwa who says it was time to watch the new players in action.

-That is not a problem since the players were new and I used three sets of players in the match, he assured.
