This format will however begin next season.
“Play off will be the second from last team against the second team in the Nationwide league and it will start next season” confirmed KPL’s CEO Jack Oguda when Kenyanfootie.com sough the clarification.
“This is the way most top leagues operate and we have adapted the same format” said Jack.
In the past three seasons, the last two teams have earned automatic relegation and the best two out of the nationwide have taken their places in the Premier League.
In the current season, Bandari and Agro Chemicals were relegated and Posta Rangers and Mahakama took up their positions.
