KPL CEO: AFC Leopards will face the consequences

Gor Mahia FC will meet Tusker after they were awarded a walk-over following AFC leopards' failure to turn up for their scheduled Sunday 29 July 2012 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Top 8 Tournament quarter final match.

Reacting to this, KPL Chief Executive Officer Jack Oguda said that AFC leopards will have to face the consequences of failing to honour the match.

-We sent the fixtures on Monday 16 July and they (AFC Leopards) were made aware of the consequences of not honouring the match. KPL have no other option but to punish the team, Oguda said.

AFC Leopards will be fined KSh1.5 Million for failing to honour the match and could face a further KSh3.5 Million fine linked to the incurred costs that broadcasters Supersport could forward to the KPL.
