Koth Biro finals only hours away

Intercity

The Koth Biro Cup finals, pitting Intercity FC against Kenya Polytechnic, will be played on Sunday 20 January at the refurbished Ziwani Umeme grounds.

The two teams have met before in the group stages, in a match that Inter won 3-0.

Tournament

Intercity, whose home is Dagoretti, qualified for the ultimate round of matches after beating the Kiambio Warriors 1-0, in the semifinals, while Kenya Polytechnic handed defending Champions Opitos a 2-0 goodbye.

The tournament, which is held annually, has Councillor George Mongolo Mwangangi among its sponsors.

Last edition

Star studded Opitos FC won the 2011/12 edition, at the time boasting the likes of Humphrey Mieno, Jamal Mohamed, Athman Buki, Michael Kamadi, Ibrahim Kitawi, Carlson Mweresa, Aggrey Ongoli, and former AFC Leopards captain Peter Wainaina within their ranks.
