On Friday 7 September 2012, AFC Leopards playing as the away team held host Tusker FC to a 0-0 draw in a game played at the Nyayo National Stadium from 1900hrs.

At the close of the game, Jan Koops, the AFC Leopards head Coach, in a post match interview with broadcasters Super Sport International, stated that he expected his side to win but nonetheless gave his boys a pat on the back for a point well earned.

-Off course we expected to win but I think we did very well finding space and keeping ball possession

From the results of the evening, Leopards remained top, now with 45 points from 23 rounds of play. Reigning league Champions Tusker remains second with 41 points and two games at hand compared to Leopards.
