Koops unhappy with venue change

Tusker Premier League (TPL) table-toppers AFC Leopards will on Saturday 15 September 2012 take on Western Stima at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

The game was initially scheduled to be played at the Bukhungu Stadium but the ground has been deemed unplayable following the heavy rains in Western Kenya.

-The ground has been inspected and it has been ruled out already. So I can confirm that the game will not be in Kakamega, Stima Chairman Laban Jobita had told futaa.com in an earlier interview.

However, AFC Leopards Head Coach Jan Koops is not amused with the venue change saying that Stima would have instead hosted them at the Mumias Complex.

Unhappy

-We should have been informed in advance. We travelled to Mumias yesterday (Tuesday 11 September) and made all our plans knowing the game would played at Bukhungu, Koops said.

-If Bukhungu is unplayable, then they should have hosted the game at the Mumias Complex. They played against Gor Mahia at the same venue and I wonder why they opted for Afraha.

-All the same we are ready for the match and target to snatch the three points from them (Stima), he added.

AFC Leopards is currently camping in Mumias and will leave for Nakuru on Friday 14 September 2012.
