AFC Leopards head coach Jan Koops feels that former Gor Mahia midfielder Collins Gattuso Okoth betrayed him by signing for Sofapaka.
According to the tactician, the player had promised to commit himself at AFC after he was dropped by Gor earlier in the month.
Assurance
-Before going to Harambee Star camp, I met Gattuso in person and he told me to relax as he will be signing for our club. He assured me 100% that he will play for AFC, Koops told futaa.com.
-Unfortunately two days later, when I was reading the newspaper, I saw he was signing for Sofapaka.
-That’s why I am not ready to reveal the names of the players who will be joining us in the transfer window.
Hunting mission
-He’s a good player but I am really disappointed in the player. I know he had the passion for AFC because every time we talked, he kept on assuring me. Anyway if the player decides to go to another team I can’t block him.
-But all is not lost as we have good midfielders in the team and I am also looking for such kind of midfielder to sign, added Koops.
Okoth, who could have been one of major signings in the den in June transfer after the departure of Salim Kinje Khamis, penned down a two year contract with the former Kenyan Premier League champions last week.
