Mathare United skipper Antony Kimani is elated after guiding his side to a 2-2 draw against Tusker in a Kenyan Premier League encounter last weekend.
Kimani made a return from hamstring injury with a late equalizer, enabling the Slum Boys to share the spoils with the defending champions.
-It’s a memorable match and mentally we were very strong.
-Coming from two goals down and grab a draw against a team like Tusker showed that we are a resilient side. I’m happy for the goal.
-Tusker have experienced and quality players. In addition, they were more tactical but we did put up a spirited fight and managed to salvage a point.
-I think that is a big plus to us psychologically as we go ahead to play other matches, Kimani told futaa.com.
Mathare are ranked 12th on the log with nine points and they’ll be hosting Western Stima on Saturday 21 April.
