Kibera Celtic have a new coach

Kibera Celtic

Barely a week after confirming the departure of head Coach Mike Amenga (to Bidco United), Kibera Celtic have appointed former KCB assistant Leonard Odipo as his replacement.

Confirming Odipo’s entry, Celtic’s Director Bernard Njira said that they needed to act swiftly in order to avert any lulls in training that would have occurred in the absence of a coach to guide the team in pre-season training.

Signing

-We have offered him (Odipo) a one-year contract and he took up charge yesterday (Wednesday 9 January 2013). He has embarked on player-recruitment exercise and for the following one week, he shall be overseeing trials at our Woodley grounds, in Kibera, Njira told Futaa.com.

Call-out

Njira also took time to invite any players who would like to play in the top-flight to attend the trials, which conclude of Friday 18.

-We call on individuals who feel they can play in the Division One to attend the trials.

Performance

Amidst financial strife, Celtic still managed a 14th-place finish in the Eastern Zone of the Division One league.
