Khamati denies Ligi

Ligi Ndogo SC were minutes away from collecting a 1-2 win out at the Stima Club against host team Administration Police(AP) but were forced to a 2-2 draw in a Division One Zone A tie played on Sunday 19 August 2012 from 1500hrs.

Deflected

Ligi Ndogo went 0-1 up three minutes after the half hour mark when Vincent Okoth picked up a long cross from Samuel Kabuthi, rounded a defender before slotting the ball past the oncoming AP keeper.

Ligi went into the half 0-1 up but gave away that lead when AP drew level through mid season acquisition Jesse Webala, a former Black Mamba player.

Ligi smelt a win when Sven Yida’s connection to a cross was deflected in with just five minutes left on the clock.

18th of the season

But there was to be no celebration as Division One Zone A’s second best marksman Mike Khamati pounced on a ball to beat an advancing Ligi Ndogo keeper Samuel Njau three minutes to time to score his 18th goal of the season to tie the game at 2-2.

After the draw, AP stays fifth with 44 points with Ligi Ndogo right after with 43 points. Both have played 25 games.
