Kenyan international allays injury fears

Segbefia Prince, Dennis Odhiambo

Kenyan international defender Dennis Odhiambo who plies his club trade with Thika United in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) missed the team’s 3 – 2 win over KCB in the two sides’ encounter at the Nyayo National Stadium on Monday 20 August with injury reports.

Calmed fears

The defender, who featured for an hour in the 5 – 0 loss to AFC Leopards a week ago after a long layoff, has however calmed fears of another long term injury after landing awkwardly in training on Thursday 16 August and twisted his knee.

Could feature

-I am okay now; the injury is not as serious as earlier thought and I expect to be in training with my team mates in the afternoon. The knee is not swollen anymore and the pain is also receding well and I could feature in the next game, he told futaa.com.

The defender has played a big part in the team’s season, serving in both defensive and midfield positions scoring vital goals before he sustained a calf injury in early June.
