Kenya U16 team has landed an invite to attend a tournament in Qatar in early April.

National Youth Talent academy (NYTA), which has been handling age group teams and taking up all invites channeled through Football Kenya Ltd (FKL), will once again provide a team for the upcoming tournament.

NYTA, made up of the best talents across the country is always in camp and is now focusing on the trip.

process will begin at the weekend

But according to the assistant coach at the academy recruitment for a strong U16 team that will make the trip will kick off at the weekend.

“We are preparing for the trip but will have to get some players to boost the set of players at the academy. The process will begin at the weekend” said Edward Karanja.

Complimenting Karanja’s sentiments is the head Coach Bob Oyugi

pushed to June

- The academy has only three U16 players and we will have to beef up ahead of the trip. We will begin recruitment very soon, said Oyugi

The academy has a busy schedule in the coming months. Other than the Qatar trip, an U18 team will be travelling to Italy in May and the U20 set to honor an invite to North Korea in June

“The North Korea trip was however should have been in April but it has since been pushed to June so that the Academy can concentrate on the other invites” added Karanja.
