Goals by Rama Salim, Clifton Miheso and David Ochieng handed Kenya a 3-1 win over Ethiopia, in their last Group A match of the ongoing CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup match, played on Friday 30 November at the Namboole Stadium.
Kenya started the match on a high, with Rama Salim almost
finding a goal in the first minute, his long shot grazed past the left post.
However, Rama was rewarded in the 20th minute, working well with a Mike Baraza pass to send the Stars up.
In the 26th minute, Clifton Miheso headed in a corner taken by Bernard Mangoli from the left to double Kenya's Advantage.
The celebration was, however, short-lived with Elias Mamo coming through to
give his side a goal in the 30th minute, to see the half-time scores read 2-1.
Coming out of the half-time break, in the 72nd minute, David Ochieng headed in a free-kick taken from the right by Abdalla Juma, giving the Stars a new two-goal advantage, which stood to the end.
The win helped the Stars make it to the round of eight, joining the Uganda Cranes, who had made it after the first two matches.
