Kenya set for regional tourney

Kenya has been invited to take part in this year’s edition of the Africa Unity Cup in South Africa.

The country will be represented in the October tournament by a seven a side team that is set to kick off residential training in September.

Coach confirmed

Special Olympics Kenya through its director John Makathimo has already confirmed former under20 coach Vince Ombiji as the team coach.

Ombiji will also be involved in the preparation process as the officials have been asked to provide a delegation list and travel documents well in advance to confirm participation.

The regional tourney is set to take place in Phokeng, Royal Bafokeng Nation, South Africa which is a two hours’ drive from Johannesburg South Africa from 3 October to 6 October 2012.

Teams that qualify in the top three will take part in the Special Olympics Unity Cup in Brazil next year [2013].
