Kenya’s representatives in the ongoing Special Olympics moved to third place on the Group B standings after managing a slim 1-0 win over Nigeria in their Friday encounter.
The team was previously on a single point after losing by a similar margin to Tanzania’s seven aside unified team and drawing against Namibia in their other group matches. They however have now climbed to four points.
Tanzania now tops the group after the results with nine points while Namibia are tied at four points with Kenya but with a stronger goal advantage.
Kenya is set to clash with Mauritius on Saturday 6th October 2012 in a match that they need to win to accumulate goal aggregate and proceed to semi-finals.
Group A: Ivory Coast, Uganda, Botswana and hosts South Africa.
Group C: Senegal, Nigeria and Namibia.
