South Africa 2:0 Kenya

Kenya lost its fifth consecutive international game in 2011 after going down 2-0 to South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in a friendly game played on Wednesday night at the 45,000-seat Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg.

The hosts took an early lead when Leeds United striker David Somma scored after 65 seconds when he met a cross from the right to beat debutant Gor Mahia keeper Jerim Onyango.

Four others

The second goal came just two minutes from half time from a set piece that was met by skipper Steven Piennar of Tottenham Hotspur and his shot went past the Kenyan defense and into the net.

The two teams last met on the 23rd of October 2002 in Tanzania during the Castle cup, a game that ended 1-1 but Kenya went on to win 5-3 on penalties.

The loss follows four others; three against DR Congo [both 1-0] during the Nile Basin tournament played in Egypt in January and a fourth soon after the tournament, a non official tie, against China [2-0].
